Systemic coach · Systemic facilitator · Trainer

Simon Maebe

Bring the knot. We will find where it is tied. Family constellations for the pattern that keeps returning, the relationship that stays stuck, the decision that will not come clear. Online across time zones, in English or Dutch, or in person in Brussels.

Simon Maebe

I am a systemic coach and trainer. What I care about most is making complex things clear. In a session, that means taking what feels tangled and turning it into something you can see, name, and work with.

Some difficulties do not yield to thinking harder about them. The same argument finds you in a new relationship. A choice stays blocked for reasons you cannot name. Something from your family's history still has a hand on the present. These are not faults in you. They are patterns in a system you belong to, and they can move.

I work systemically. We look together at the whole you are part of, not only at you, and we find where the strain actually sits. Often it is somewhere you would not have thought to look. When you see it, it loosens. That is the work, and it is more grounded and more practical than people expect.

You do not need to arrive with the right words for it. Most people come because something keeps repeating, and that is enough to begin.

Who I help

Who I help, and how we work

I work with individuals, with professionals and with teams, often around life transitions, leadership, family dynamics, professional development, the knots that run quietly through a family or a team, and questions of meaning and direction. What I care about is change that lasts, from the inside out.

You bring what is alive for you now, in your own words. There is nothing to prepare. Together we bring the relevant people and forces into view, find where the real movement is, and do a small, guided piece of constellation work with it. You stay in charge the whole way, and we go only where you are ready to go. We close gently.

You can work on a relationship without the other person present, and it still moves. A constellation does not hand you an answer to carry away. It shifts how the situation sits in you, and that shift is what lets things change afterwards. Much of what I do is one to one, online with people across the world or in person in Brussels.

In a session I help you slow down and see the bigger picture. The aim, always, is to make the invisible visible.

The method I bring to your session is the one I teach to the people who facilitate it elsewhere. I co-founded the institute that trains them, and it runs on a curriculum we wrote ourselves. You are not working with someone who picked the approach up second-hand.

Background

I train the people who facilitate this work

I co-founded EISEC, the European Institute for Systemic Education and Coaching, and I am its head teacher. I train the facilitators, help write the curriculum the training runs on, and run the workshops and the annual intensive alongside Cecilia Altieri.

I came to this work early. My first family-constellations workshop was in 2007, at sixteen. I began training in earnest in 2012 and have worked in the field since 2014. I trained and certified at ISPAB in Munich, and on the structural side my work is inspired by Insa Sparrer and Matthias Varga von Kibéd. My academic background is in management (MSc, KU Leuven), European studies and international relations (MA, Maastricht), and English and German literature (BA). I see clients in English and Dutch. If a session is easier for you in one of those, say so when you book.

About Simon

And away from the work

I was born in Belgium, where I live with Cecilia and our young son. Away from the work I love long walks with the dog, running in nature, and reading. I get creative in the kitchen, and I am usually exploring some new idea.

The right support at the right time

Sessions support change in how you live, relate and decide. They sit alongside medical and psychological care, and they do not replace it.

If you are in crisis right now, or you are having thoughts of harming yourself, please turn first to your doctor, to a crisis line where you live, or to the emergency services. If you are being treated for a psychiatric condition, or you have questions about medication, that care belongs with your prescriber, and our work can run alongside it.

If you are unsure where to start, ask us. We will tell you honestly whether this is the right support for you now.
